Everest Hikes’ Signature Nepal Journey: 9 Days of Luxury, Culture & the Himalayas

Arriving in Kathmandu is straightforward — most travelers can obtain a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, though those with access to a Nepali embassy or consulate beforehand may arrange one in advance.
A traditional musical welcome greets you right at the airport before you're escorted to your hotel. After settling in, you'll join your trip coordinator for a welcome dinner in the evening, where they'll walk you through the days ahead and tease a few of the surprises planned for your stay.

Spend the day discovering Kathmandu's temples. Following breakfast, you'll be joined by a guide dressed in traditional Nepali attire who will walk you through the valley's long history and how much of it remains intact today.
Before the temple tour, you'll head to Chandragiri for a scenic cable-car ascent, rewarding you with sweeping Himalayan views stretching from east to west.

The Himalayan peaks you admired from a distance the day before come much closer today with a helicopter flight that brings you within roughly a mile of Mount Everest. A stop at Hotel Everest View offers a scenic breakfast break with the mountain in full view, before the helicopter returns you to Kathmandu.
From there, you'll head to Bhaktapur, one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Kathmandu Valley. Wander through streets lined with medieval architecture and sample Ju Ju Dhau, locally known as the "King of Yogurt."
That evening, you'll transfer to a hotel on the outskirts of Kathmandu, depending on your preference.

Today's flight takes you to Nepal's lowlands in Chitwan, a region shaped by dense jungle and the traditional Tharu community. You'll settle into a handpicked jungle lodge, where wildlife sightings — elephants with their young, grazing rhinos, or even a passing Bengal tiger — can happen at almost any moment.

You'll also visit a local Tharu village, with lunch arranged there as part of Everest Hikes' commitment to supporting the communities we visit.

Your guide leads a jungle safari through Chitwan National Park, where patience is key — Nepal's wildlife tends to stay hidden until it feels safe to emerge.
Breakfast is served within the park itself, either at a campsite or a treehouse setting.
The day closes with a lively Tharu cultural performance, showcasing traditional dance and art passed down through generations.

A short flight brings you to Pokhara, after which you'll drive to Dhampus — a quiet, lesser-known corner of the region. You'll stay at the Mountain Lodges of Nepal in Dhampus, set against views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
After exploring the village, settle in for the evening and watch the sunset light up the surrounding peaks.

Start the morning with a Himalayan sunrise, followed by an optional activity of your choice — paragliding, bungee jumping, or white-water rafting.
A three-hour city tour covers Pokhara's key sights, including the Seti River gorge, the World Peace Pagoda, the Tibetan Refugee Camp, and the International Mountain Museum. Round off the day with a peaceful boat ride on Phewa Lake.

With most of the adventure behind you, you'll fly back to Kathmandu. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your hotel or browsing local markets. That evening brings one final surprise — a traditional Nepali farewell dinner where you can share stories from the trip.
