Night bars, Clubs, Dohori (Traditional singing), etc are the best way to enjoy the nightlife in Kathmandu. It is mostly concentrated in Thamel while Pulchowk Patan is another point. Bars and Dohori are opened until midnight while nightclubs are allowed to run the whole night.

Before 2006, there happened to be less number of nightlife activities due to the curfews. In the meantime, the conflict of Maoist was in peak. Back then, Maoist entered mainstream politics and ended the conflict.
